Menu > Structure

This menu provides functions for controlling the structural parameters of the calculation model. These are structural nodes, structural elements, tendons, FEM bodies and as a special case data related to incremental launching construction method.

Menu item Description
Node Data

Subfunctions for displaying, defining or modifying node parameters.

  • Node Coordinates: Definition of the Position of node points
  • Node Supports: Definition of any node supports. Supports can also be modeled with springs with one node zero (preferably, to have supports in the element database).
  • Node Support Directions: Definition of the local coordinate directions of node supports.
  • Node Support Eccentricities: Definition of any eccentric position of a node support.
Elements

Subfunction for displaying, defining or modifying parameters of structural elements.

  • Element Types and Nodes:  Definition of the element type and assignment of start node and end node.
  • Materials: Assignment of material parameters
  • Cross Sections: Assignment of cross-section parameters and spring constants
  • CS planes: Definition of planes of cross-sections at element begin and element end (if not orthogonal to the axis direction).
  • Composite: In case of composite structures: Definition of relation between composite elements and corresponding individual elements
  • Length and Angles: Element lengths and directions of the local axes
  • Eccentric Connections:  Definition of eccentric connections between nodes and element ends.
  • Hinges: Pin-jointed connections between nodes and element ends.
  • Time: Parameters describing time dependent behavior (partially for creep and shrinkage, partially for dynamic analysis (time history analysis).
  • Shape: Definition of any fabrication shape other than straight line from begin to end
  • Checks: Element selection for performing proof check calculations
  • Round: Definitions for rounding of hogging moment above supports and bearings
  • Slave:  Definition of slave nodes for Finite Element calculations
Tendons

Subfunction for displaying, defining or modifying parameters of tendons.

  • Element Assignment: Definition of the element range where the tendons are arranged
  • Geometrie: Definition of the tendon geometrie in relation to the elements where they are arranged.
  • 3D: Display of calculated detailed coordinates of all tendon points in space
Bodies

Subfunction for displaying, defining or modifying parameters of finite element bodies.

  • Integral Results: Definition of cuts for calculating results
  • FEM Elements: Definition of the FEM elements the body consists of
  • FEM Eccentricities: Definition of the eccentric connections of the nodes of the  finite elements to the nodes of the model
  • FEM Thickness: Definition of the thickness of wall, plate or shell elements at the element nodes
  • FEM Thickness Vektor: Definition of the direction of the thickness vector of wall plate or shell elements at the element nodes
  • FEM Integral: For all FE nodes of the body the definition, to which Integral results they contribute
  • FEM Load Case Results: Internal forces in the different FE nodes for the active load case (i.e. the load case selected in the selective list)
  • Integral Load Case Results: Integral internal forces for the active load case (i.e. the load case selected in the selective list)
ILM ( Incremental Launching Method )

ILM Preprocessor is a tool that supports the generation of schedule and loads of Incremental Launching Method and related structure manipulation to fulfill all equilibrium states during launching process simulation.

  • Segment Definition - Original Structure: Definition of the individual launching segments related to the original model as defined by the user.
  • Segment Definition - ILM Structure: Definition of the individual launching segments related to the refined model for calculating all launching steps.
  • Schedule - Structure: Definition of the schedule - activation of intermediate structures in the different launching phases.
  • Schedule - Actions: Definition of the different schedule actions to be performed in the different launching phases.
